1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They have top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. As with other top iRobot models (including the top pick) they utilize smart mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also have carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it sees an abundance of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned up quickly.
Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of a room.

It's still a good deal, especially if your home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and you can use it while you're at work, or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. And, if you have to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. You can modify the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.
If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross contamination. Its flex arm is also ideal for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire house, finishing with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did a great job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms that had various flooring types, such as some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog turds, socks, shoes and cables.
It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically emptys into its base, and also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums it, something hasn't been seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
The robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that looks much like a Roomba model than the boxy models from the rivals. It is one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. It comes with advanced features like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score 100% in our testing, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an intuitive mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's loud which could be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and more attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however it's more expensive and produce more noise.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, as well as washes and dries mop pads.
The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to create floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.
The vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and also adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home in accordance with the degree of dirt they tend to be.
If you have a bigger home, it is worth choosing a model that has spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you tell the robot which area of your home needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice command. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have large furniture. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be extremely useful.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more intelligent than its price would suggest. It is a good vacuum cleaner, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). linked internet site mops using a single pad and a rotating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the robot mop cleaners that we've examined. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to guide you through the mapping process which collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to set up the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for better performance. The app also grants access to a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans the area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute little eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, but it's more likely to be caught on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums that we've examined. It also has an app that's not as intuitive and has a tiny base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
